Duplex Architects, Zurich are among the four winners of the architectural competition "Wohnen für Alle" in Hamburg, an affordable residential building project in Hamburg, Germany. The competition was announced by the Planning Department of the City of Frankfurt am Main, the German Architecture Museum (DAM) and ABG Frankfurt Holding. 107 competition entries were counted.

Our visualizations for Ernst Niklaus Fausch Architekten with your competition entry for the study contract "Development Marktgasse" in Bern. With the conversion of the historic building for Migros, the majority of the premises in the old town of Bern are to be relocated to the railway station.
The competition entry for the city expansion Viererfeld / Mittelfeld in Bern by Büro B. We were able to support the architectural office from Bern, Switzerland, with our visualizations in this urban planning competition, in which 26 international planning teams took part.
For Weissgrund AG we were able to create the night visualization for the area under construction in Basel. The client is the insurance group Bâloise, which is erecting three new buildings, architecture by Miller Maranta, Valerio Olgiati and Diener and Diener Architects. Completion is in 2020.

Seminar Bernarda at the Institut Menzingen in Switzerland with Bünzli & Courvoisier Architekten, 2010. This was a very special project for us to work on. It was a renovation and addition to an existing school complex in Menzingen. The architect sourced old black and white photographs of the site that we integrated into the final images. The project won first prize in 2010 and finalization was 2018.

Our images for Boltshauser Architekten and their project "Baufeld F" of the Europaallee for the SBB Immobilien in Zurich. The architects were able to win the competition and successfully implement the project. It took 8 years from the visualizations to completion in 2019.
Our visualizations for the competition Gemeindesaal Arlesheim for Anais Architektur, Zürich. The project near Basel, Switzerland, offers next to the community hall, several apartments and some service industries.

The entry by Personeni Raffaele Architekten from Lausanne, Switzerland for the competition "Téléphérique Chalais - Vercorin, Valais" fro, the year 2017 has made it to the 2nd rank. We could support the architects with our visualizations and were allowed to add some mist of magic to the images, as usual by hand and ♥︎ . . .
Looking into the office server of nightnurse images, one finds a folder named "testrender", a digital dumpster containing virtual models of imagined enviroments. The data contained in each file describes the precise arrangement of objects, mathematical calculations of lights, properties of materials and many more layers of information that constitute the content necessary to create a convincing visual representation of commissioned projects. As files pile up, the amount of data gets bigger, cheap and disposable as it may be, takes up space, clogs up data channels and must thus be maintained and cleaned up on a regular basis.
Relics is based on a small set salvaged from this temporary storage. The models - built and used for architectural projects earlier this year - are discarded by-products of an all digital production process. Taken out of context and stripped of their charactersitic materials, the projects are cast in homogeneity, questioning the way architecture is visually represented on many platforms from local competitions to entertainment industry.
The same data is used to produce the five images, by re-articulating and combining differnet elements in the digital image production process, from multi-dimensional coordinate data to color and pixel values. The following set of digital operations were performed on the data:
Redesign of the Area Hotel Intercontinental, Wiener Eislaufverein, Wiener Konzerthaus. For some time now we have been able to accompany the project www.heumarkt-neu.at with visualisations, planned by Isay Weinfeld and Sebastian Murr for a prominent site in Vienna. Our task has been to present the newly emerging public space in the different times and types of use of this complex urban design.

The Technorama Park in Winterthur, Switzerland is designed as an experimental landscape with combination of areas for experiencing nature and technical phenomenons and relaxation. The landscape in the images was created almost completely in photoshop, while most of the exhibits are modelled and rendered.

The Real Estate Team around HRS and the Architectual Offices Pool, Boltshauser and Caruso StJohn won this highly decorated competition for the new Hardturm Stadium in Zurich, inkluding two skyscrapers (the tallest ones in Zurich) with offices and appartements, as well as an appartement block for the ABZ housing association. We worked for over one month on the images, which is a lot for competitions, but shows how well organized this big team was.
