More common in Europe than in other parts of the world - the architectural competition is still a primary source to aquire work for small and large practices alike. In Switzerland every investment by a public body and above a certain threshold value must be published for public tender. Images commissioned to win in these tenders will try to capture the overall character of a design rather than depicting material and construction details. The jury is often made up of architects and experienced real-estate specialists - so images can presume a certain professional expertise. Moody skies and emotionally striking images are more common in this category than in others. The skill here is to choose the focus of our work so that the characteristics of the design are convicingly presented, even if the design itself is not entirely defined at the stage.
